A Mobility Motorhome is custom coachbuilt by Trail-Lite (see Links this page), and is based on the Mercedes Sprinter 416 Lwb 156hp diesel cab/chassis with Sprintshift auto transmission.

The cab is fitted with hand controls and detachable steering wheel knob.(For various reasons the vehicle is not suitable for tetraplegics/quadraplegics to drive.) The fully adjustable hydraulic suspension swivel seats allow easy transfer from a wheelchair. The front seats also have sheepskin covers for added comfort. It also has electric windows and mirrors, radio/stereo CD player, airconditioning, central locking and burglar alarm engine immoblizer with remote control.

The home is fitted with a self-operating electric wheelchair lift which retracts and folds away under the floor of the main entrance door. The all important bathroom is quite large and is fitted with double opening doors, shower, handbasin and a standard stainless steel siphoning flush toilet with holding tank. The wheel-in shower has an armless, height adjustable, removeable shower chair. The overcab bed is a fixed Queen size bed. There is also a full size accessible single bed (2000 X 900) in the lounge at the rear which easily converts into an accessible queen size (2000 X 1530mm). The home is also fitted with 2 leisure batteries (150ah each), 2 liquid propane gas bottles (9kg each), a 3-way fridge (90litre), gas oven, griller and 4 cooktops, hot water storage (22litre), and blower type gas heater with seperate external burner inlet/exhaust. T he water tanks fitted to the home are extra large with outside access facilities and have capacity gauges. The leisure batteries are connected to a roof solar recharge panel. These 2 features allow for much longer independent periods, especially in isolated camping areas with minimal facilities.
